I have inside scoop that chevy is not going to surprise you with a Lemans Blue
ZL1. We have tried. All we need is to get 10k orders for camaro then we could more than likely get a bright blue camaro..
We had a thread up somewhere requesting as many votes for bright blue as we could but we didn't even get close to the numbers. We tried though. If we got 10k orders or that many people to actually commit to a purchase we could pretty much tell GM what shade of BLUE we wanted I feel pretty confident.
If this car would be anything but what it is, (say an SS) I would have mine stripped and painted ABM. This is just one of those cars you do not dare change the color on it once you buy it. IMHO anyway.

^yea I know. I wouldn't dare repaint it. I'll get around to buying it but that color might make me sell if it comes too early...if at all.

I wonder if this means an influx of used 2010/2011 camaro's in the market? It sounds like there could be a number of people trading in.

#1...and I'm with GoldenBear. Not paying any dealer markup on principal. I'm working with three dealers to ensure I get an early car. Two dealers told me I can come in on day one and order their "first ZL1" but there are really no guarantees I guess. May have to end up buying both and selling one.

I am definetly buying a Zl1. Was going to buy a C6 GS but want something different... plus I will really want a C7 when they come out. I will start saving for that soon.

I am getting it through a local dealer who is a good friend of mine and who I have bought a lot of cars and trucks. The key will be for dealers getting an allocation which he is pretty sure he will get... for me . I do not have to worry about markup which is everyone's concern.

He brought up a good point though when I was talking to him the other day, he said because the 2012 model will be so late why don't you just wait for a 2013. He has thinking that the 2012 will not be on dealer lots until late April or May. I must admit I really want to have this car but waiting for a 2013 may only be several months differrence.

All joking aside, this ride is one mean motor scooter and a bad go getter. All aboard!!!
Don't think I could get rid of the 35th for a ZL1, but we can only have so many toys. Tough call. They're both something special and will be collectible in the future if kept it good condition.

LoL... This will be interesting to see the actual real sales numbers of the 2012 ZL1, especially when GM/Chevy releases the MSRP and folks are shocked that it will start in the $55,000 range, then they throw in wheel options and a 6-speed Auto Option, etc... I think the MSRP of $48,000, that some are contemplating, is a pipe dream... Even though being competitive still doesn't mean the price has to be the same as the GT500.. Maybe GM thinks it is Competitively Bettter not equal in price.. Time will tell..

The same thing that happens to people who assume,
unless all the variables are factored in.

Most extrapolations are assumptions clothed in fallacious mathematics.

Not raggin' on Ya man, that's just the way it really is.
