Engine / Transmission is very jerky...

Hey everyone...

I picked up the new Camaro 2SS last Sunday and have 550 or so miles on it as of today. I have noticed that the car seems REALLY jerky when accelerating from a start. It seems to want to lunge forward and then cuts out and does this 2-3 times. Has anyone dealt with this?? Is this common? Do I need to accelerate faster from the get-go?

I have been pretty easy on it so far. When the cars jerks...it almost is like whiplash to the passenger. It only does it when I am at a dead stop and accelerate normally (not flooring it). It seems to really do it hard when I am turning from a dead stop and then accelerating.

Thanks for your help! I dont know if it is still in a break in period or if I should take it in to a dealer. Thanks again!

-Brian

Sounds like you're letting off the clutch without giving it enough gas. Try keeping the RPM at or above 1000 the next couple of times you take off from a dead stop.

Yes...sorry...it is an automatic. I have tried playing around with the Sport Mode and with the tapshift. It seems to do it in the "D" or Drive mode...

Oh.. haha I didn't see. I figured it was an M6 because that would be a common problem ! Since it's the A6... I've got no clue :(

mine tends to do that when at WOT. i'll drop it down gears let off the clutch and let the rpms catch up and punch it. it's like it dies then roars to life. mine is an m6 btw.

The L99 shouldn't run as you're describing. I'd have the dealer check it out and I'd also drive another one to see if it has the same problem.

I was thinking of that too DangerouSS...to go and drive another similar SS. So weird....it did not jerk at all today. It seems to be very random (thinking its maybe me???)

Mine used to do that, until I started getting on it. It has over 3900 miles on it now, it's just wants to run. Drive it hard do not baby this car, having done this no problems since then. It gets stronger every day, very pleased with it.

In addition I've added CAI, and Catbacks.

That's normal. It's just break in "symptoms". I'm at 5900 with an ADM Race CAI and it's smooth. The problem your describing stopped around 2000 miles for me.

If you're worried, take it back to the dealer. Don't worry about looking stupid. You paid for the car!!!

yeah...give it 1500 miles or so, it'll still be under warranty...I'd bet it smooths out. Could also be TM cutting your foot back. It closes the tb blade to do the TM.
