I have a '04 GTO, it has a window frame, it annoys me cause I bump stuff on it all the time when the window is down and the door is open, i'm used to the t/a, when the window is down, nothings there!!!lol

I love the G8, awsome car. But not the same thing at all as a camaro. To differant types of cars. I would like to have both.
This is my reason for concern. I have a friend that drove the camaro for the highway patrol and he said the wind noise was very bad.

I do like the look of frameless windows. It is very sharp looking. Also glad to hear technology has improved above issues on previous f-body cars

I wont be doing any bashing the visibility Issue I can understand also I wanted the 2SS w/o leather (my work gear will rip the leather) and I do agree on the hids and at least he is considering buying an American rwd car, the car isnt for everyone and now more for us...

Sorry to read about your dislikes of the Camaro. But i'm glad your sticking with GM. I hope the next car after your G8 can be a Camaro but either way Thank You for supporting GM. We'll be ready to build your 21st Century Sports car when you decide the time is right. Have a GREAT long weekend.

From your future Camaro Build Team in Oshawa.

I love GM cars and always have. In a former life I did auto repair, and I like the way GM cars are designed.

Let me clarify about the V8 vs V6 issue. What I am trying to express is all the various thoughts I have had while considering different options for the Camaro. In other words, if I wanted the V8 auto.... I'd rather have the LS3.

However, all this being said, I should mention some of the things I love about the Camaro:

1) Of course the looks
2) V8 power, if you want it
3) The DI V6 - WOW
4) It doesn't come with the 6 disc CD changer, thank God I hate those things.
5) HIDS are available. Thanks.
6) Great wheel/tire selections
7) Did I mention the looks?

OH and by the way I didn't even think of the convertible issue with framed windows. See, so much to learn here.

Can someone please tell me what the hell the letters CTF stand for????

"The frameless windows have my attention as well. You know there is going to be a lot of wind noise at higher speeds."

How can you make conclusions when as you said you haven't even driven it?

Just for your info, I have had mine up to 140 for about a mile on a freshly paved stretch of freeway and NO WIND noise. It is a very quiet ride.

I believe it's Captured Test Fleet, the first batch of cars that were out their used by GM employees to help with final fit, finish, powertain tweaks, etc.

Get a VW bus from years ago. until you actually drive a Camaro, reserve judgement. You want more windows, then get a Pacer. I had one, it was great. Sit it a Camaro. you want a family car then buy one. There is no reason you can not own numerous cars or trucks. Each has a function.

4th gens have them. I can say that once you get at maybe 140 plus they literally pull out from the moldings and you can feel the change in air pressure.........yea and noisy too.

as far as the original poster goes, I think you can get a sreaming deal on a caravan

Different car, different windwows, several people have reported very little wind noise at such speeds on the fifth gen, some in this very thread.

How high a speed? I have been to 135 and was shocked at how quiet it is. Much quieter than a Corvette.
