Arrow * Your thoughts on Camaro Carpet Color *

I have been talking to GM for years now, of offering DARK carpet with light color interiors - In the case of the Camaro, Gray leather has light gray carpet.

Impala's, Tahoe's and several others, with Gray has similar light gray carpet, or in the case of tan, light tan carpet.... Should the carpets be DARK gray or black with light gray seats, and say brown with tan, or even black (Camaro has black carpet with the biege) in their other models?

Results will of course, be shared with my friends at GM

I've never been a fan of light color carpet or seats because of how easy they are to stain. I wouldn't buy a car if it had light color interior- I've seen what a Soccer Mom's van looks like after kid's get done with it and it's not good at all.

I like the interior to have different but complimentary colors. After all, if you drive your car you are looking at the interior much more often than the exterior. Why not make it interesting. My camaro is black with the Inferno Orange interior, and I think it looks great. I'd be bored if all I saw was a sea of black or gray.

I like my beige seats with the dark carpet. That's the main reason why I didn't even consider the gray interior, the carpet is gray and way too light.

Sure, it looks pretty, but if it's a daily driver, it will age quickly and shows dirt and stains much too easily.

I personally think the seat color and carpet color should be separate options. Someone should be able to choose to have, let's say, beige seats with beige carpet. Or they can choose the black carpet... etc etc.

I think the light gray carpet gets very worn looking really fast. Oh, and here is a free tip for peeps that are less stupid then me. Don't wash your beautiful black "RS" floor mats in the washer, it will destroy them!

I ordered the titanium grey interior and was a bit shocked by how light the carpeting was. The day that I took delivery of the car, the first thing I did was to get a can of Scotch Guard for the floor mats. It seems to help them from getting stained. I am very careful to only put my feet on the mats and not on the actual carpeting.

Smart move. My grey carper still looks pristine. However, the mats are dingy looking now. The car is one year old and only 11201 miles. That being said. I still prefer the grey carpet over the black.

MULTI Color Carpet!! Kinda like a BERBER. IE, Tan carpet with Dark Brown weaving, throughout, kinda like a hounds tooth............ with solid seats it would be nice.. just make it soft contrast so as to not be too busy on the eyes

The ONLY thing I absolutely hate about my Camaro is the light gray carpet. I have the gray/black leather interior which I absolutely LOVE but the carpet ruins it for me. It gets dirty way to easy and looks a bit cheesy. I wish I would have thought about it before and I would have gone black leather just so I could get the black carpet.

I agree with you, Scotty. I think the carpet should be darker to hide the dirt and traffic. My wife's Saab 9-3 has a light tan interior with black carpet. While the seats show a lot of dirt because of their light color, the carpet doesn't look worn at all. In reference to the Camaro interior, I have a buddy who was considering the gray interior, but decided on ebony because of the light gray carpet...

This thread actually surprises me. I have tan carpet in my SUV with tan leather seats and LOVE it....it is my daily driver, and I only have to vacuum it once a week or less. I've had one stain in 6 years of driving it, and it came out really easy. (And yes....I have 3 boys).

My Camaro has black carpet with the IO interior, and I feel like it shows EVERYTHING. I have to vacuum it almost everytime I drive it. I really, really debated about getting the IO interior because I had to get black carpet and I would really have rather had a light carpet. But I got it because I just feel like an IOM car is incomplete without the IO interior. I don't really like the black dashboard either because it NEVER looks clean. It drives me crazy. I have a real love-hate relationship going on with my interior.
