I dont think that car has the RS option, missing back-up lamp, fender rally sport emblems. I'd almost bet its not a real Z28. This should all be checked before dumping tons of cash in it.

Looks like the one I found a year ago.....met the guy at an autoparts store and he looked a little ratty. I had a customers black SS clone and he says "nice car". I replied from here, but poor body work up close. He then says "I got one in my barn......been there for 17 years and was gonna make a race car out of it but never did. Its a Z28" he claims. Every one claims this so I took it with a grain of salt. He rights his phone # down on the back of the speed shops card and I forget about him until a few months later. I see it in my wallet and call him. He says "come on over".

He has all sorts of out buildings and horses, etc. Shows me his wifes 70 cutlass convert she bought new in one...wont sell theat, but he pulls open a barns doors and there sits a 69 covered w/pigion crap and dust/dirt/boxes/parts. I get to the vin tag and sure enough...X11 DZ 302 car!!!!!! Dusk blue/whit stripes and he has spare NOS hood, air cleaner assy, emblems, consols. shifters, fenders, un freaking real!!! Paid $5k and got it to the shop....2 days later a guy offers over twice that as is so (I regret this) sold it and still have a ton of spare trim & other parts here.

Z-28 should be X33 or X77.

^^ True. I think there are only 2 documented X11 Z/28s. Jerry McNeish vouched for the second one.

The Z-28 emblem in the grille is incorrectly positioned, there are no backup lights and the "Rally Sport" emblems should be on the side of the front fender instead of "Camaro". There is a possibility it is a Z-28, but I doubt that too. All the inconsistencies speak clone RS and Z

Wow...you guys know your '69's!

And not one of you has mentioned the non-cowl induction hood. I thought all 68-69 Camaro Z-28's had a cowl induction style hood, while the '67 Z-28 was the only one delivered with a flat hood.

Still a great find, badged incorrectly or not.

The cowl hood was an option on SS and Z28 models in 1969 and was included on all COPO's and Pace Cars. It was introduced midyear 69.

Ya, the cowl hood is RPO ZL2 option. My dads first Z, (Back in '73) did not have a cowl hood. The one he has now, does.

SC150 - I thought you said it was an X-11, cowl tag says X-77?? Congrats on GM fenders, those are worth double their weight in gold!!
