Z28 Suspension Upgrade For SS

If I get this and have the dealer install, will my SS have similar handling to a Z28? Seems way too simple. Are there no other electronics or suspension components that would be needed?

RACE-TUNED RIDE
Z/28 SUSPENSION KIT WITH DSSV® DAMPERS

P/N 23464729 / MSRP: $3875.00

The Z/28 is the first high-volume production road car to employ racing-derived DSSV® (Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve) damper technology from Multimatic.™ The dampers rely upon a pair of self-piloted spool valves to control fluid through tuned port shapes rather than conventional deflected disc dampers. The design of the inverted-monotube front strut and aluminum-body monotube rear hydraulic dampers offers maximum response, stiffness, and tuning optimized for the track, with the highest level of damper predictability, accuracy, and repeatability. The unique dampers are the center of a comprehensive suspension

package that also includes higher-rate coil springs, smaller-diameter solid stabilizer bars, and higher-rate suspension bushings. The dampers are matched with optimized stiff spring rates and stabilizer bars in both the front and rear to reduce body movement in hard cornering and acceleration. Also included in the package are front ride-and-handling links, rear upper control arms, rear trailing links, and toe links which have upgraded stiffer bushings designed to reduce cornering compliance and increase durability on the track.

No, the suspension does not have any electronics. But it does have traction and stability control. Also don't think for a second you'll be making laps or taking corners like a Z. You'll need to throw in the diff, wheels and tires and aero to make it all work.

For a good comparison see the thread here. Specifically my post (post#7 in the thread) lists lap times comparing the different Camaro models (and some other vehicle brands) and I also have a link to the article that explains what the Ultimate Track Camaro SS is so you'll understand what that car is and also see that it's still a few seconds slower than the Z/28. So while this suspension will make a big difference for you...it will not automatically put you neck and neck with a Z/28.

wow, ~12 second difference between Z/28 and SS on a 2 minute track. Thats impressive!
