I have a 2011 Black SS vert that I bought about a year ago and it had some bad swirl marks that are becoming more and more noticeable. I researched doing a paint correction and with my work schedule and F'd up back I don't think I could do it the right way. What is a fair price for paint correction? I got a quote of around $350-$400 for a one stage and then another $250 to do a ceramicoat treatment. Is this a fair price? I have heard mixed reviews on the ceramicoat treatment. Any help is appreciated and if anyone in Mesa AZ area has a recommendation let me know. Thanks

The price sounds about right.

I would think it's a 2 stage though, compounding and polishing, before applying the coating. Especially on a car with black base coat, it will need compounding first to remove the swirls, then finishing polish to give it the best gloss.

On white, gray, or lighter colors you can get away with 1 step. Darker colors, especially black, really benefit from the finishing polish.

Sounds fair, however, I'd want to look at some of the guys work in person if possible to know what you're paying for is acceptable to you.

That price is somewhat low compared to what I've seen shops advertising. Most places for any type of correction plus a coating is easily 1K in most shops.

The cost for paint correction can vary significantly from car to car or shop to shop, at the same shop two people might get quotes that are $1000 apart. The reason for this is the quality of paint. You could have great paint, so you'll have a cheaper price than someone with tons of swirls and scratches

$350 - $400 sounds about right for a MULTIPLE stage correction - compound, polish, seal - wax or sealant - INCLUDING a detailed wash & treatment of the tires/wheels etc. $250 for a ceramicoat treatment is WAY too low, there you are looking at $500 to $1K because to do it PROPERLY, the paint on the car has to be brought to perfection BEFORE the ceramic coating is applied.

I do agree, have them show you some of their work to see if it meets YOUR standards.

As others have said, I am sure the price is based on the condition of your paint. I am also not sure the 1 step will be what you would be satisfied with. I had my 2015 Camaro done in Oct 2016 with what should have been minimal paint corrections and my price was $1500 including ceramic pro.

I also have a 2007 Foose Mustang that I have had quoted by 2 different shops. One was running a special for $875 including the ceramic coating and the other quoted $1200 to $1500 but wanted to see the vehicle before finalizing the price. The shop quoting the $875 special normally charges $1375.

wow.glad i bought a 6"orbital polisher.have managed to correct most of the little marks and swirls on my car for around 250 bucks in materials and it makes waxing easier too.
