That's why these Legacy plates are now available. They are for new cars including your 2011 camaro.

If various sites and clubs saw this there would be no problem filling that order 10 times over.

Well you could use them on anything, but they are made for guys with a 50's car or a 60's car.

I have a 1957 New York plate on my belair, first I had to locate a pair then I called Albany to make sure that that number isn't being used then I had to mail them a photo of the two plates then they would register my car with those plates historical. With this new Cali. Program you are avoiding all that to have your ride retro.

Legacy plates are made for any CA car or truck that wants the vintage looking plates that were offered in the 50s, 60, or 70s. Read the frequently asked questions part in the CA DMV site. That's the whole point with these NEW plates.

I said that, but you would be the minority. The bulk of sales would go to guys that wanted plates for his classic 50's or 60's car that would've been on it when new.

State Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill allowing for the return of those plate styles. If the Department of Motor Vehicles receives 7,500 pre-orders between January 1, 2013 and January 1, 2015 for the vintage replica plates, it will begin issuing them for any vehicle for a personalized plate fee of $50. If fewer than 7,500 pre-orders are received in that two-year span, those who submitted $50 payments will have their money refunded. According to the Los Angeles Times, if the program goes through, buyers of the plates will also have to spend a further $40 every time they renew their registrations.

That's an opinion lol, there are plenty of interest I've seen for new vehicles that look like the classics that want vintage plates as well.

I was wondering the same thing. I wish they had a counter. I don't think CA DMV cares enough to keep us updated.

I'll add another order to the list here soon. Hopefully more and more people will become aware of this soon.
