no idea. I personally don't like cameras with less than 5x optical zoom. Then again, you only need abouta 3 megapixel camera to take REALLY good shots. Polaroid, nikon and Cannon all make great cameras and are probably the top 3 companies IIRC.

I have been a loyal Canon buyer for my photo equipment. I have a Canon 40D which I used for most of the pictures in the link in my signature. And the new 50D (came out 5 months after I bought mine - be glad car companies don't do that) is a great camera.

We also have a nice little Canon SD870 (10 Megapixel I think) that is just outstanding.

But other makes are great too. Nikon makes some awesome equipment.

But, like most things, it depends on what you plan to do with it and even more important, your budget.
