Kind of curious... how much do those RC jets cost? I'm sure they vary depending on components, but do tell, please! Seems like extreme fun...and something homeland security should be worried about!

Funny you mentioned that Htron, <well, not funny really>, but, a guy was busted here in The State's about 3 month's or so ago by the Fed's for making what looked like 1/6th scale R/C aircraft and he had intention's of putting explosive's in them and flying them into targets here at home. I recall a pic of a scale F-86 Sabre Jet and a F-4 Phantom as some of the devices. Very elaborate pieces he created. Here's the link...

I have seen Turbine aircraft go for 10 k or more!!!! The turbines alone are usually 2 - 5k...... ouch

Here is one for 7500 if you are interested.... http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=810100

I will stick to the cheap stuff....

I would love to know how much this guy spent....

If the plane has 4 Hammer 160+ engines like it says he spent a boat load.... they are 3700 a piece!

All these posts have me interested in picking one of these up now. Just what I need, another potentially expensive hobby

What would you recommend at this price range?

Go to your local hobby shop and see what pre fab models they have there to take a gander of what's readily available. Start a conversation and go from there. There should still be modeler magazines on the market for such, try R/C scale model magazine in your search engine for a start...

I believe if you have depth perception vision problems, this would be a BAAAD hobby to get involved in, just as would trying to be a pilot! Sometimes, a man has to know his limits! (Stick to close combat sports LOL)....

Well there are tons of options.... If you have no flight time you could go with hobbyzone planes.

http://www.horizonhobbycorp.com/WhatWeDo/

My buddy actually picked this plane up to learn on....

http://www.hobbyzonesports.com/Produ...ProdID=HBZ7400

It has anti crash technology that makes the plane react to any crazy pitch changes.... Helps keep it in the air if you catch my drift!

Or for a real cheap "fix" to see if it is something you really like you can get one of these for around 85$ and it also has the anti crash technology!

.

Several points...

1. Yes OldScool, of course I meant the F4 Phantom.

"...proof that if you put enough engines on it, even a brick can fly."

2. That blackbird is SWEET.

3. I need an airsoft minigun.

4. I probably shouldn't mention the onboard model rocket launcher system I designed, built, and tested on my car. (shhh)

It worked very well.

(I didn't test it on a public road.)
