Cam or blower
I have a 2011 SS. With kook headers, full flow cats, variram CAI, tune, zl1short throw shifter and 391 gear upgrade. Tuned at 418 RWHP. Want more power but just drive on the street. What would be the best next step , a cam or a blower?
Not into track racing, just wanna have fun and keep the drivability stable. |

Do both .
But the easiest and best bang for the buck is a magnuson S/C, great power, and the most reliable. It will drive like stock till you hit the loud pedal. PM me if you need any info or pricing. |

By the way you are explaining your goals about drivability and not tracking the car on the quarter or twisties then I would say blow it. That is if $ is not an issue.

Do both if you can afford it. I'm 700+ RWHP and drives like stock except for the feeling of being on rails due to my suspension upgrades. Everyone forgets suspension when they add power, then things start going downhill fast.

Just remember, more power, the more stuff you have to upgrade, some have gotten by with really high hp with stock parts, while other haven't gotten close and broke stuff. I'd love more power (why idk lol), but I'm afraid I'd break stuff, and can't afford to upgrade or to replace what breaks at the moment.
Its a gamble really, but so is getting up out of bed in the morning. |

A blower is an awful lotta money - but if you can bankroll it, do it. If you are short on bank, then throw a camshaft in. If you can turn the wrenches yourself (a cam is very easy to do on these cars if you are patient, and have good tools), then for under $900, you can get a cam, springs, pushrods, timing chain, rocker trunions, retainers and keepers - and it will REALLY complement the parts you've already bought.

Id say cam, since its the cheaper option, and with the right cam and tuner you can get to 480rwhp and have a great sounding idle

For the L99 Guys I suggest the Supercharger next because it is more cost effective HP Per Dollars Spent. Ted.

I'm looking at cam + head\tb port and polish + compression ratio + a true dual exhaust with headers (mill the head to either 11.5:1 or 13:1) ill probably 13:1 because of fuel economy with e85...... cold Intake and dyno tune......
id like to leave my suspension and drive train as they are...... |

You are 418 RWHP already. Have you done any suspension mods? As Kronix has said everyone forgets about the suspension. You would be AMAZED how a few good suspension mods will enhance the power you already have.
Just my Two cents. Otherwise I would cam that biach by calling the boys at Lethal. Their Night Fury cam is Awesome. T.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same. Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different. I can't wait for my next Track fix. OH SURE, blame me!!
But, does it handle better? Does it make the power more fun? I would be willing to bet the answer to both is a resounding, HELL YES!!! T.
