How can tell if I have an RS package - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey everyone I have a 2010 1ss, purchased it used. I want to change my headlights to color changing halos. I see jdp makes a kit that looks like I don't have to remove bumper , but kit says must have Rs headlights. Now nowhere on the car is the Rs markings but I looked in the wiki and my cars fog lights are drl and I do have the halo lights already, so would the kit work?

Also as a side note the car had a beige interior with floor mats that said 227 in beige , I asked the dealer what that meant he had no idea. Any body have any ideas on what the 227 represents.

If you have halos then you have the RS package. Also your tail lights will be slightly tinted.

If you have RS package, you will have SS wheels, halo HID headlights, leather interior, body match roof ditch molding, and a silver line above the grille!

Leather is a 2SS addition, not RS. The chrome line above the grille is '14 MY only.

It sounds like you have an RS/SS Camaro, but it is possible that the previous owner added the lights after they purchased the car.

RS Appearance Package (available with LT and SS):
- HID headlamps with halos
- spoiler on LT model
- 20-inch 5-spoke wheel with Midnight Silver paint finish
- RS unique taillamp (darker tinted lenses)
- body-color roof ditch molding
- RS badging (front and rear)

On the SS Model the "SS" emblems (front and rear) will be red (non-RS are white).

The 1SS models come with cloth seats. The 2SS models come with leather. Leather seats aren't part of the RS package.

There should be option codes located on a stickers on the door and in the trunk that you can check to be sure which options your car came with.

In the trunk under the mat on the left side.
Is a sticker with all the factory installed option codes
look for WRS, thats the code for the RS package.

You had to have the 2LT or 2SS to get the RS package also. One of those great bundling things the manufacturers like to do.

If the 5th position of your vin number is an S, it is not an RS. I haven't been able to find the code for 1SS/RS or 1LT/RS... but the 1SS base(NO R/S) is an S.

Position #5 Series
“E” for 1LS (1EE37)
“F” for 1LT (1EF37)
“?” for 1LT/RS
“H” for 2LT (1EH37)
“C” for 2LT/RS
“S” for 1SS (1ES37)
“?” for 1SS/RS
“T” for 2SS (1ET37)
“K” for 2SS/RS

Just so you all know, if the tail lights are different on RS they are only different 2010 and 2011. The part number for RS taillights and NON-RS taillights is the same for 2012-2013, 2014 RS has led while 2014 non-RS does not

I've seen a few 2010 next to my 2013 and the taillights definitely look less tinted, but my tail lights are stock

just like 2010-2011 stock/low end LS models did not come with a spoiler at all, mine did and it was the cheapest available.

False, the only trim level you can not get the RS package on (Excluding ZL1 and Z/28) are the 1LS and 2LS. Both of the LTs and SSs can get the RS package added on
