My plan now after letting this soak in... Gonna do ported and milled heads, ported intake, front skinnys and rear drag bar. I might actually push for 10s on the stock short block and stay N/a.
Yea, it will be a while before I get the money to buy the rims so Ill just be running the ET Steets.

Its a 540 with a powerglide behind it. He only had it to the track 3 times this year. First time he went he snapped his axle the first time he tried leaving off the transbrake, cleanest broken axle Iv ever seen. Sounded like a gun shot going off. But its been missing and carrying on at anything around 5000rpm and up. running 11.0's and had 1 10.70 pass, gotta baby it down the track

Great job, I knew the TH400 / Converter would gain you 4-5 tenths. A bit more fine tuning and you should easily see 11:50s with that mph. How is it on the street?

Stupid trans is short shifting itself into second early because I don't have the 12 volts running to the trans I guess. But man she's running awesome, I am able to hold 2nd as long as I want, shifting it at 6800. Need to get 1-2 worked out, might have 11.6!

You need a Manual Valvebody. Then it will only shift when you tell it to!!

Interesting, I've had MVB's in cars, and auto ones too. Another car I have has TH350 auto valve body, and if i shift it manually it does not go 1-2 unless I clicked the shift.

Stock bottom end 10.9's sound good Mike, I might go for that too.

I went 1.70 on my NT05R's at Byron the weekend before, but I had to load up the rpms and roll it out not flashing the converter cuz then it would spin like a mofo.

I'm thinking of doing 17x10 + slicks next year if I could have flashed the converter I would have went 11's SI and low 1.6 short times I think.

Congrats again we need to meet up for racing next year bud.

Funny thing is I can hold 2nd gear to 7k! Ya I think 11.50s is totally there, I just need to dump these 275s off the front. It's actually really good on the street and highway, I can still go 65-70 on the highway no problem. I only used a 1/4 tank on a 1.5hr drive so gas mileage is not all that bad.

This trans swap changed the car so much, I thought I would miss the m6 on the street. I don't miss it at all, I love this setup on the street! Feels like I am driving a real muscle car now!

Hey John, yes we need to meet up this spring for sure! Your probably hits the tired allot harder then mine with your gearing! I wasn't even close to spinning, my best 60 was 1.74, I should be able to get it down to 1.70s with some seat time.

I think low low 11s maybe 10.9 is possible now. Yes that would be sweet man, I can't wait till next season already... Stupid winter!

Im needing to fix the 1-2 shift also. It shifts by itself at 6200 with the shifter still in 1st just as yours does.

A manual Valvebody should fix the problem.

Bad70- Changing the governor weights and adjusting the modulator will raise the shift points
