Is it worth it?

I was thinking, do u think that a zl1 is worth 55k close to 60k due when all the paperwork is done. Dont get me wrong this is an opinion thread. My opinion is that it is more wise to get a 2ss/rs used private party for like 30k and rather save the other 30 for a rainy day. Or u can buy another camaro. Maybe if u want you have 30k to mod the crap out of your 2ss, possibly make it as good if not better than a zl1. I know i dont know as much as u guys who actually own a camaro. So tell me what u would do

The ZL1 for the most part and for those that are going to buy it are going after a limited production, super fast car that's quick out of the gate no mods needed. Most people that can afford it don't want to buy a car and then send it out to look like something that in the end still isn't a ZL1. Some will finance it and can't afford the $30k on to to build a lower end car that still is not a ZL1.

Could you build one for WAY cheaper then $50k? Absolutely you could, in the end is it a ZL1?? Nope, and most people that are buying it want the exclusivity of a ZL1 not a car built to look like one.

Just my opinion.

then why would any one want a Z06 over a base c6 vette? this debate has always been around. the Zl1 is worth the money if you ask me. for what it offers and others cars in its price range.

But i would never buy a 55k-60k mustang or camaro. thats just me, would rather have a corvette or M3.

Nice, and kind of proves my point, 10k for a very sexy and fast car almost as fast as a zl1 and you saved 20k.

while that is very true. the Zl1 is still overall a better car. its much more than power numbers. it had a very impressive Nürburgring lap time.

the SS does hold better value on what you are getting with the price. BUT again the Zl1 is priced where it should be. its worth the money to some people.

I don't think any amount of modding or money will allow you to install the ZL1's mag ride suspension into an SS.

That depends on one's financial status and what one values in a Camaro.

You'll end up paying a lot more for a new, stock corvette to touch the performance numbers of the ZL1. If you aren't going to put the ZL1 on a track, by all means, mod an SS. Especially if you're going to park it in your garage and never drive it. Less ZL1's will be made. If you want a bad ass camaro that you can keep stock, race it occasionally, and still have a warranty, buy the ZL1. JMHO

The ZL1 has one important feature a modded car does not. 3/36 warranty.

It depends on what your definition of "worth" is...From a financial stand point, no car is ever "worth" what it costs new...all cars become "worth" less over time...(lol)...

You could probably find better investments with your money, unless you are a deep-pocketed, long term collector of rare, high end cars...A handful of ZL1's may fall into that category, but certainly no mass-produced, or highly modified SS's...

What they are worth in another sense, is personal to each owner...What to mod as you like mechanically or cosmetically, whether to do it yourself of have it done by someone else, what model to buy new or used...I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, everyone spends different amounts for different reasons on their car.

Like was said before, the ZL1 could be considered modded by the factory, good to go out of the box...Is it worth it?...depends on your point of view.
