diff of 895 (?) or so cash. Yea there is a difference. My 1le didnt have it. so i ended up going borla atak. Not sure how mine compares in real world comparision but my car does rumble allot better.

I would say, if your going to buy a ss get npp.

Yep the dual mode (NPP) exhaust has 4 tips, 2 each side while the standard exhaust is a reg dual exhaust with 1 tip each side. The dual mode sounds a lot more aggressive and opens and closes 2 out of the 4 outlets depending on power setting to make it quieter during cruise but louder and more aggressive at higher RPM.

stock mufflers have dual exhaust mufflers in the back. the npp gives you quad mufflers in the back. If you see 2 x 2 exhaust tips then it should have npp. normal is 1 x 1.

dual exhaust mode is the npp exhaust mode.

NPP/Dual-mode exhaust is the way to go, plain and simple.

Agree! I made them trade another dealer just for the NPP. It's awesome.

I have NPP and its plenty loud. My flanking neighbors have each texted me when I arrive home. It's that loud they can clearly hear the car in their houses. Al Oppenheiser even says this was their design intent to make a statement your neighbors can hear.

The Camaro NPP has different programming than the Vette NPP. On the Vette it's quiet at idle and loud at rpm. On the Camaro it's loud at startup then quiets down for a certain rpm range then gets loud again. The exhaust commander switch basically makes it loud or quiet around 3K rpm. When loud the car certainly drones more. I liked this at first but now appreciate Chevy's programming of the valves. I can actually hear my radio better now and talking on the cell phone more comfortably. But if and when I want to get raucous I can push the Exhaust Commander button and go loud again.

Oh, and when you're in the loud mode the backfire / back gargle is much more prevalent and delicious.

My 69Z28 came with RPO NC8 (Chambered) exhaust, it was also designed to garner attention but was killed after a few months of production as local law enforcement agencies complained to GM. My 1LE has NPP, worth every penny and the best sounding factory exhaust on a camaro in forty years
