but guess what. the anniversary of the camaro being brought out in 67 still happened in 2003, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09. It was it is the "annual recurrence" of the time/date/year of an event. That recurrence is in the date not the fact that the product was made. with your logic you would have to get married every year over again to celebrate an anniversary. |

This is an internet forum guy. Without opinions, it would serve no purpose. What we have here are two different perspectives. I'm sure in your mind, you're very much correct. And you can leave my 02 out of this. It's not a factor, I'm just right. And Bowtie knows I've got nothin but love. Oh I forgot to address your centennial Q: That was 100yrs for Chevrolet, no? So that edition was in tribute to another entity, not in celebration of Corvette production. Doesn't even apply to the conversation.

You have my logic wrong then as well as the definition, you would have to STAY married year after year that is exactly my point thanks! Quote:

In 2020, I'd have no problem starting over at 10th Anni. Like I said before, I'd even stretch the truth enough to base anniversaries on total years of production henceforth. To drop a 45th now is just cutting corners. IMO

I didn't mean to start trouble and this is the last I have to say on the subject. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion (hopefully they will state it nicely), but I just don't see how you can have an "annual recurrence" if the item isn't in production.

ok then lets look at it this way. Gm has owned the rights to the name camaro with a legal document just like a legal document changes a girls name to the guys when they get married. So GM has been married to the name camaro for 45 years. Therefore celebrated the 45th anniversary of GM and Camaro being in a legal document

Of course there will be a 50th anniversary. I was thinking of going that same route unless they stop making Camaros for 8yrs or so but why would they ever do that?

but whatever helps you justify it as a REAL anniversary man. You can argue with me, but you can't argue with the dictionary. Maybe write a strongly worded letter to Websters dictionary explaining how their definition doesn't help your argument and you don't appreciate it? lol Would it kill you to admit you're wrong? You keep stretching and stretching... I am quoting THE DICTIONARY here, you're arguing against THE DICTIONARY. |

I'm hoping for a 50th. I was born in '67 just like the Camaro, and hope to treat myself to a nice 50th BD present.
Hopefully it is something like the 50th Vette. A nice red, maybe a deep candy red, and some subtle badges. No bi-color stripes or glitter paint. I bought an IBM '12, but passed on the 45th ed, the styling just wasn't for me. And I hate black cars with a passion. Blue or red please. Maybe a return of ABM or IBM? Or even the deep yellow/goldish from Transformers 1 would be awesome. |

ok you can't argue with the dictionary http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/anniversary
Definition of ANNIVERSARY 1 : the annual recurrence of a date marking a notable event; broadly : a date that follows such an event by a specified period of time measured in units other than years <the 6-month anniversary of the accident> 2 : the celebration of an anniversary See anniversary defined for English-language learners » See anniversary defined for kids » Examples of ANNIVERSARY
AS I STATED, The act does not have to be repeated. its is the annual recurrence of the DATE the camaro came out (notable event). If you can't understand that then I dno what to tell you. |
