On the plus side for Ford fans, pricing the Mustang (with options) higher than the Camaro probably means Ford has a lot of confidence in the new GT500's ability to perform.

Recaros, glass roof, electronic package (Nav), shaker 1000, etc...these options have nothing to do with performance. The SVT-PP is about the only option that matters if the buyer wants to go roadracing. For straight line races, it is good as is.

I think people seem to forget the base model will have pretty much the svtpp package from the 2012 GT500.

That suspension is not bad at all.

Well, the SVT-PP is $3,495 on top of the base price. The track pack is another $2,995 on top of that. So $6,500 for the handling packages.

And the cars going to be used for more than straight line races. For one thing, it's going to be driven on streets, which are usually in worse shape than tracks.

I am getting the ZL1 because it is delivered ready to road race otherwise. If I didn't have a GT500, I would get the new one with SVT-PP and track pack and dominate in both tracks. I like roadracing better.

99.9% of the races on the street are going to be acceleration races. The street is about stop-light to stop-light or highway top end races.

What makes you think the base gt500 has crap for suspension? like the man said above it's basically the 2012 svtpp package from the previous year on the base car.

Seriously guys.
You wonder why we close these threads and ban people?
Read your own posts.
This is childish.
