I posted this in another thread but will do so again here... My buddy seems to be pretty connected at GM and while it may be total BS, he told me the delay is software/programming related and that they are doing some reporgramming to avoid the Gas Guzzler Tax. He also said they were going to get a bit more HP out of it. Again, sounds suspect to me but it would be awesome either way. I'm working with my dealership on an order for a Yellow ZL1. Don't care if it's a 12 or a 13 just can't take delivery until June or after as I don't know what my bonus check will end up being. Still very excited...

I think that those at GM who truly know the details regarding the ZL1's QC hold aren't saying anything. Therefore, I think that anyone who does comment about the details of the QC hold probably doesn't really know much about it.

Is there any paricular reason why GM wouldnt let dealers and customers what the problem is? I know they don't have to but i was just wondering if from their point there is a specific reason they wouldnt keep people informed. When the delay occured with the 5th gen battery cable was it announced right away or was it "top secret" as well?

They are known for being secretive with pretty much everything, sometimes too much.
If you are paying 50+ on a car I think you would want to know and even have the right to know everything that is going on with your purchase. |

Well its still GM's car. No one here has actually put the 50k into GM's hand yet. But I just don't see the reason for the secrecy. It's patented technology, we aren't protecting the stealth fighter here. I think everyone expected some hiccups along the way, it would just be nice to be kept in the loop. Unless it is a performance increase and they want to keep that from the competition, my wishful thinking. Lol.
