Whipple, cam, meth, will get you over 700. You can get to 700 on turbos alone but I love my cam. If you are stopping at 800 either kit will get you there, if you go beyond that TT for sure. But after that 800 mark you will be spending a lot more money on other things so really depends on how far you are taking the build.

One limit you are going run into if I have read it right is the auto transmission, if I can remember right the ceiling is some where around 650 rwhp, but on the bright side the auto will really do well with boost (no boost bleed off during shifts)and add a good stall converter and you will have a very fun beast. And make sure you look at your end goal and plan the fuel system around it if you can at the beginning so you don't have to spend money on it twice

For sure on the fuel set up. Get a squash pump and call it good along with some good injectors.

Which one would be better for just weekend cruise and going to the drag strip every once in a while. I don't want to get to crazy. I'm shooting for 800hp. I think the whipple would look great and sound great also and the Agp TT would give the power but ya can't see it. I'm still debating in my head what I want. There is just so much to think about how to build. I'm going

I've got a Kenne Bell on an otherwise completely stock LS3 M6. Including stock cats. I put down 525/500 on 91 octane pump gas. Not a Whipple, but KB is a twin screw just like the Whipple so that's about what you can expect out of a true otherwise stock set up. Remove cats and you'll pick up some more. Headers, cams, etc and you'll pick up more. You get the picture.
I'd recommend you check out the KB as well. They don't get a lot of press here because the vendors can't make any money off them. So they've been trashed and are not Camaro5 approved. But I can tell you from someone who actually has one...they are bad ass and run awesome. But the Whipple is good too. So are almost all the options. We are truly blessed with these Camaro's to be supported by so many awesome aftermarket companies. You mentioned above that the Whipple will "sound great". Keep in mind the Whipple is actually very quiet. If you want that supercharger scream...the Kenne Bell is probably the loudest charger out there. Get on it and it lets out a primal wail that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. But even the KB is still fairly quiet...i wish mine squeeled a bit more. The AGP turbos sound quite wicked as well. Different than a charger. But they can whistle and scream too. And if hitting the highest number on a dyno is really what makes you tick, then the turbo will without question put down more HP and TQ on a dyno than any charger. Translating that into actual driving is a different story. The differences between turbos and chargers are EXTREMELY well documented and fought over already here (do some searching and reading) so we won't go into it again. They are BOTH awesome options. Understand the trade offs...beware of the fan boys and vendors downplaying the trade offs to push you towards what makes them money...and make a decision for yourself based on what YOU want. Follow that...and you can't go wrong. Happy to chat with you and answer questions you might have. PM me if needed! Good luck! Lots of great options. Last edited by cc-rider; 02-07-2016 at 01:52 PM. |

The 2.8 should make more than 700whp. I'm making more than that with a 1.9
