CD/DVD clear scratch repair stickers, anyone member them?

CD/DVD clear scratch repair stickers, anyone member them?

The commercial had a truck driver picking up a hitch hiker, truck driver is jammin some country music and its skippin. The hitcher pulls out his CD, slaps on some type of clear CD shaped sticker and walla, no more skips.

Was it a fad that went out quick?

It was for the deep scratched, not easily buffed out with those cheap machines they sell.

Was supposed to be as easy as that, slap on the clear stick and its fixes all the optics and it works like new.

To much stuff now a days is hard to copy and I’m just not that careful, or have been able to learn.

Though can fix most with a soft cloth n some chrome polish

I did find something, its not really a sticker as I membered though.

http://www.d-skin.com

And it say to just protect them, not fix them.

still would work to stop any more damage.

Nope scratch that, I didn't order those off ebay, ended up getting from Amazon.com [which is ubar rare, never felt comfy with the whole "were a book site" selling all the odd stuff they do.]

Got 20 D-skins for $16.98 shipped [sup-media]

And I found the peel and stick ones, and I got 50 of those for $10.54 shipped [cyberguys!]

We will see which is better or last longer.

I still play GTA SA on PC allot and I can't make a back up of the game DVD for my life and its starting to show its years of use. Been playing that game since 06. Even got DVDfab that will copy ANY movie. Even own a copy of blindwrite and NADA. [I only copy for my use, not illegal.]

blindwrite is great for messed up CDs n DVDs, think of it like a program for a crashed harddrive. It can handle skipping over the bad stuff and getting what's good.

D-Skins review

So far so good, I put them on a game DVD and it played just fine.
Put them on a movie DVD and it played just fine.
Burnt some music to a CDR with one and it burned the disc just fine and it plays fine.

It says it’s suppose to be invisible to the laser.

Haven’t got the peel n stick kind yet to see how they deal with scratched ones.

Though I give D-Skins a thumbs up, anything to help my CDs n DVDs last longer is a plus. IM just not that careful with em.

Well the peel n stick ones were not what I thought.

Its like a storage decive, you can't read the disc with it on.
It just protects its, they are reuseable but kinda dumb.

Maybe for long term storage, where you want the data read side to be ubar safe.
