Meth on a maggie will basically keep the iat's steady and keep them from reaching the crazy 170+* temps they can produce . It wont cool as well as a centri (dropping 30-50*), but it is effective
If you want constant lower iat's install a chiller.... Last edited by BLACK10; 08-18-2013 at 09:17 PM. |

Again..... if there's little change in the IAT's using meth with a Maggie, how do you tune for it safely? That's kinda what this thread is about. What meth does with centri's and turbo's isn't really relevant to this thread. Meth is great. Centri's and turbo's are great. No disputing that. But, the question, regarding meth with Maggie, remains....

the problem I have with that video is yes it shows the meth cooling the intake pipe no doubt. but on a maggie the inlet air is compressed after the blower so basically the meth is cooling the intake charge but the effects are not that great because it is being heated again after going in the blower and the charge gets compressed .and you loose the misting effect of the meth. it will still help with octane but cooling not so much . I am a meth user and swear by it but I also have a centri

It's also gets rid of heat soak problems. I spray on my Whipple and I don't think I've seen anything over 120* on my IAT making 12PSI. I've kept a eye on my IAT using a Ultra Gauge.

I have seen them up around 150 with 6psi boost.. After meth IAT's around 80 staging and then by end of run might hit 120 on a hot day but I also pulleyed down same time I added meth so this was @ 12psi boost and not 6psi. Different subject but now with meth and superchiller IAT's haven't topped 80 @ end of run.

We'll that's encouraging. I see the same 150 plus. I ordered a super chiller, still waiting for it to be shipped. Did you put chiller and meth on at the same time ? Or did you do one and it wasn't enough so added the other ?

Meth 1st and then later did the Super Chiller.. With both on a 70-80f day @ the track my cars IATs will be around 120 between rounds when I crank it. After a few minutes idling they will drop to around 40f and after a good burnout, staging, and 1/4 mile run they have not gone above 80 so far. Meth kept me around 120 and with both I stay around 80f.
