A proper set up, like my Lexus, will not allow it to start unless the fob is in the car. My Lexus will only start if the fob is in the car. It won't work anywhere out of the car even if you're standing right next to it. It also won't lock the fob in the car.

You guys need to give Chevrolet a chance to improve. If they made a Camaro with every feature imaginable then, there be no place to improve for future models. Sure a remote start button would be nice but don't expect it anytime soon.

If you want that feature, sure go for the Challenger. Then you'll be saying you wish you had your keys to start your car...

You can already get remote start on the Camaro.

Keyless ignition perhaps?

Yes, I really like the one in my vette. no keys, locks and opens itself. Starts every time the fob is in the car.

best system is the key fob proximity sensor with a turn ignition. Infiniti has this. That way if your key fob runs out of battery you just pull out the key from the key fob and insert into the turn ignition. Also, the turn ignition allows multi-level power settings.

My co-workers asked me if I had a remote start when I got "ESS." I told them, no. I mentioned to them that I had a ("clutch start" button). You put in the key turn it to the on position and depress the clutch. One guy asked me if this was a new thing. LOL

What does RFD mean?

Unless you're talking about word below Camaro on the key tag which I'm pretty sure says red.
