Can someone explain my lose?!

Ok so in school the parking lot is filled with ricers and most i don't know the drivers but i know about 50% and they get at me like salt on a peanut becuase i have a camaro.

So there was this scion tc and wanted to race me so we went for it a week later. (we did not street race)

I lost, it was horrible and embarrasing, i lost by at least 2 cars.

His car is automatic
Scion tc
v4 2.4 i think and 164 hp (stock) ((i think)) but im in theball park or right
Exhuast
somthing done to his cams
cold air
and a loud ass anoying ricer muffler

My camaro
V6 3.8 around 220hp with the mods
Dual cb exhuast
performance air filter
some permormance spark plugs

They are both automatic

How did i loose this? Timing was right, my car has more hp, a v6 and is well maintained.

Well his car(3000lbs.) is lighter than yours(3300)
And he's got cam work which usually adds some significant power

how many gears do the Scions have?

Your Camaro only has 4, right? If he had a six-speed, or even a 5-speed...that might help explain it a little....

Not if it was an automatic. The manuals were 6-speeds.

Maybe....I had faith in my camaro to beat that, i actually thought i was going to fly right by him. like most ricers i have raced, they take off like a bullet but slow down really bad at the end, i guess that when the v6 i got kicks in for diffrence.

I'm working with a guy here in Portland that does custom SuperChargers and I'm having him look into something for my 3.8 V6. If I have him do the work and the HP gains are really good I'll give you his number. Might take me a while though, moneys really tight right now. But I'm aiming for 350 - 400 if I can manage that.
