Wondering about what to do
So my car does not have after market exhaust. Nor do I have after market wheels and tires. I could just spend the money and get wheels and tires. Or take that money and add some then purchase the IPF solution.
Question 1. Would you buy wheels and tires or buy a FI system? Question 2. Should I install it or have it shipped for installation? Question 3. Having it shipped to AZ or FL for install wondering what the cost? I really want to maximize the set up, by this I mean have it running the best I can. Not so much the fastest, just running nice and smooth with good power. I still need to get the numbers (prices) then I will decide.. I know the price of wheels and tires is the cost (3K). Wondering what the bottom line is for the IPF system. Then if I ship it what would that cost be. |

This is a tough question. Your looking at double that cost for an IPF kit + cost of installation unless you install yourself or have someone else do it for free.
But the real question here is what do you want first? Gobs of extra power, or looks? (yes I know wheels/tires can add performance as well depending on what you get)

Yea, the sc will be twice the price of wheels and tires so it comes down to do you want fi enough that you are going to have to save up for it?

Yea not sure I would install the IPF myself but it seems some dyno time is needed to perfect the install. I guess go wheels and tires then get IPF. humm

I can do IPF now dont need to save for money. I am a little concerned having me install it and then going to some shop and having them dyno my car.

Maybe @ tomorrows Camaro Gathering I can ask others to see what they think. Either rims and tires or IPF.

The tune provided by IPF is pretty refined. They have quite a database of engines versus mod and can give you a tune that is pretty close to max output without a dyno. However to get the most out of your setup a dyno should be done. The install is very well documented and can be done in a weekend taking your time.
Back to your decision, I went with the IPF SC first and am now in the process of updating my suspension and going with the solo Hi Flow Cats. Now if the snow and cold would let up I could get some work done and get this back on the road Good Luck with your decision, either way your car will be better !

My opinion? IPF it. Install it yourself and be done in an easy weekend (I did it). You'd hardly even know it was there until you get above 4000 rpm. Very docile as a daily driver. Totally reversible.

Ok, here is my 2cents worth. Buy nitrous ($1,000.00 ) Hp tuners or Trifecta tune or DYNO ($700.00 - $1,000.00 ) CAI intake ( $300 - $400 ) Solo HFCs ( $650.00 ish ) Thats $3000.00. Buy used rims on this site ( $400 - $ 800 ) all installed labor. $700 - $1,000 ) that puts it at about $5,000.00 Spend the last $1,000.00 riding around for gas to show off your new ride and power. :-)

Heres what I would do
buy the kit you like best and install it myself unless you care about the warranty from IPF Then I would spend $500 and get RS or SS wheels and tires of the members sale add and plastidip for $10 That way you have SS power, and you dont have the steeles anymore

I've been doing my cosmetic mods first,while I kept up with the FI threads,reading up on my options.My car has become more of a garage queen,weekend driver.I am now ready for FI.
