Looking for: MPG cruising spreadsheet (V6)

been googling and couldn't find any info.
i'm looking for a spreadsheet of cruising speed vs mpg for the V6 and V8. I suspect the highest MPG for the V6 is obtained at 55 mph, but if anyone can point to a convenient spreadsheet, would be awesome.

thanks in advance.

I don't think you are going to find any such thing. There are too many variables to be accurate or useful. For instance: Are you cruising on a perfectly flat road? Is there a headwind/tailwind? Is it raining? What is the temperature? What is the altitude? And so on.

As a general statement... I have owned both a V6 and now a V8 Gen5 and they both seemed to do their best (mpg wise) at around 2000 rpm (in high gear).

You can hook up a temporary vacuum guage and shoot for the highest manifold vacuum at the lowest rpms.....

keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel

Just my $0.02, but on I-45 between Houston and Dallas, my peak MPG was closer to 3000 RPM, just over 80MPH. LS V6 with manual.

very interesting. are you hitting 3000 rpm on 6th gear, or are you cruising on 5th.

i'm running a 2lt, and my 80 mph is at 2000-2100 rpm.

1LS. If I'm in 6th at 2000, I'm going about 60-65. MPG goes up at higher speeds. Just what I've seen.

2LT here...1600 at 60...2200-2300 nearing 80mph. I'd have to be cruising at a pretty good click to hit 3000 rpm in 6th...

Of course, if I'm out just cruising, i might not get into 6th gear.
