Hit and Run
I can't believe some people. I got up this morning to find over $1000 of damage (the whole bumper needs to be replaced) done to my car while parked outside my house. No note, nothing. How does someone hit a car and then just drive off?? Now I'm stuck having to foot the repair bill, which effectively kills my fund for going to Italy this summer, so much for starting the week off on a good note. At least I get to look forward to finals for the rest of the week as well...right...?

Once, Some guy whipped around the corner so wide he went head on into my 95 Z28. He promptly backed up, turned the wheel & took off into the night.
My neighbor saw it & got the plate # then knocked on my door to let me know... cops came & said they couldn't do s#1t other than take a report & look around the general area for the car because it was an out of state plate. WTF? Luckily he skidded into it & didn't do much damage... just added to the scratches that were there from the truck that apparently backed up onto the hood in the lot @ work one time & then also left without leaving a note making that a H&R too. Anyway, I couldn't afford the $500 deductible so those scratches were still there when it was traded in on my 2010 RS. If anyone hits my new baby & takes off, they'd better hide really REALLY well because state lines or not, I'll find their ass! |

Take a deep breath.
Try to clip the bumper back on where it snapped off on right rear quarter (you may need new clips), and gouge back that piece that got shoved in. Nearly good as new... then go to Italy and repair it when you are ready. |

If you have uninsured/underinsured coverage on your policy, it should cover it. Some agents may argue about that, but I know for a fact they can cover it under that section of the policy if they want to.

check your quarter panel... looks like it might have gotten out of whack!? doesn't seem to line up right with the trunk???
or is the trunk "popped"? Last edited by ninety6; 05-04-2010 at 01:04 PM. |
