I love how he used the Jalopnik review like it was the most praising review even though it was actually one of the reviews that liked the car the least. He so helpfully provided a link to the Jalopnik review but not one to the "this sucks" review.

Cars like the Volt ARE the future. And I too believe the Camaro is the last of the muscle cars in its current form (getting less than 30mpg will be a thing of the past in about 5 years).
But this guy just seems to hate the CONCEPT of the muscle car. Like he's threatened by the aggressiveness. He seems to have a grudge against the admittedly present "frat-boy" mentality of SOME muscle-car enthusiast. But noone can have an issue with the Camaro. ESPECIALLY the V6. Getting 29mpg highway is no small achievement and he doesn't give it its due. That proves he has nothing against the functionality and more against the concept. It was more a screed against what he sees as aggressive, violent, unreasoned jock culture (which IS a problem in this country) and not really reviewing the car. The Camaro gets better cas mileage than some of the most praised sedans out there, but you won't see a article like this against a Camry or Taurus. Because this article isn't about the car. He was probably picked on a lot by Camaro-driving bullies in high school. I'd be willing to bet on that. |

I am sorry, but people like that don't deserve any kind of response. Leave 'em alone and let them wallow in their own little lives.
Probably lives in an efficiency apartment and is paying $600/month to park his bicycle.

As a fraternity alum, I'm getting real sick of the term "fratboy" as a synonym for "stupid douchebag," especially by someone whose professional writing skills involve the phrase "car-like drunken child's funbot crayon sketch."

Funny thing is, around here at least, the people who you are describing wouldn't be caught dead driving an American car.

When did driving a domestic become beneath us? Or is everyone just too keyed on the "I'm here, so I deserve everything" mentality?

Mark Morford has been spouting off about things for years and he usually winds up offending everyone. He's an old curmudgeon and usually quite funny. You can't take him seriously, after all he's not an auto critic.
