I wish you luck with your new supercharger. Went through the same thing last summer. The new supercharger was just as noisy as the old unit.

Hi all. Sorry, I thought this was common knowledge.

There's a service bulletin: 2012 and 2013 superchargers can be noisy when idling, and if so, the sc is is replaced free of charge. Reason being that if left untreated, the engine can be damaged.

The dealer says they will brief me on this and give me the extra information I need. I have no idea what they mean by this but I will find out on Monday.

I'm bringing it in. Onday. The dealer saycuc

I think most people probably knew that, but in case it was something else. Just my guess of why it was asked. Hope they get you one with a solid isolator, thought I read on the forum someone getting their S/C replaced but still with the spring loaded iso.

I've yet to have a blower issue, but here is were I'd go with my dealer's mechanic if/when I have do :

I'd ask your dealer if they were replacing the entire supercharger unit, or just the snout, which I think has become the latest method. Less invasive to your car.

Secondly, I'd ask if the new blower or snout is being replaced with a solid isolator, or a newer spring-loaded isolator that is grease-packed which is said to eliminate the issues with the original spring isolator without the impacted grease.

Then, I'd ask what is the difference between the original thought that the the solid isolator was the better solution, and if now a grease-packed spring isolator is the best, why did GM change their mind?...but... that is just what I myself would ask.
Good luck with it my yet-to-meet Canadian ZL1 owner.

I got mine replaced in December and the noise is back again.

Going to bring it in to a different dealer because mine doesn't think it can go bad again.

Like ZEDL1 stated, and most importantly that the new unit has a solid isolator.

How many miles on your car?

I wonder if we can start to figure out when these things start making noise....
