Toyota designer: Hey guys, let's see how thick we can make the C-pillar. 20 bucks says I can make it thicker than you.

+1. Excellent statement. Ford and GM will only win because of excellent products.

When one team wins a football game its because they are better than the other team regardless of fumbles or interceptions thrown...the winning team has the same opportunity to fumble and throw picks. Dont forget that. I know the UAW will never go away...I have accepted this and I hate it. That being said....Toyota, honda, ect still use the same American workers to do the same work as their domestic building counterparts....Why dont they have to use the same union? Its a total unfair advantage to the import companies. Well that and millions upon millions in tax breaks for import companies to build factories here. |

This isn't really a fair comparison. The H3 as mentioned later is. This is actually a pretty capable off-road package-and if you really do off road, fancy interiors are not good. The terrain is more a comparison to the normal crossovers from Toyota. The Cruiser has real wheels/tires/transaxles/low range/locking axles- it's a pretty sturdy beast and I've seen them in places you could never dream of taking a Terrain. I'm not drinking the Kool-aid, my hunting rig is a Dodge- but Toyota makes a pretty good off road rig.
No, it's a retro nod to this ^. Along with Jeep, probably the most respected off-road vehicle on the planet for reliability + capability. You've got 50 year old FJs roaming Africa still. If anything, the H2 & 3 was a Land Cruiser/Land Cruiser Jr. wannabe. And unfortunately, with Hummers demise- GM makes nothing even close in capability to the FJ. I realize you guys hate Toyota, but you can't just dispense with all logic and take away even the credit they do deserve. |

A co-worker of mine has one of those. He loves it. He also uses it how its meant to be used.
Personally its not my thing, but I was pretty impressed seeing the amount of mud on it. Heh. Heres to hoping the floormat don't stick while approaching a cliff. That is quite possibly the ugliest interior I've ever seen.
