Livernois Motorsports Head/Cam Whipple 2.9L Build

We recently had a customer who previously had us install Kooks Headers, Corsa Exhaust, and Rotofab CAI come back to perform further modifications to his 6-Speed Manual 2010 Camaro SS.

In stock form, the car made 382 RWHP / 378 RWTQ

For this round of modifications, we installed:

Livernois Motorsports CNC LS3 Cylinder Heads
Livernois Motorsports Stage 2C High Lift Camshaft
Livernois Motorsports Hardened Pushrods
Livernois Motorsports Dual Fuel Pump Assembly
Whipple 2.9L Intercooled Supercharger
60# Injectors
NGK TR6 Spark Plugs
160 Degree Thermostat
ARP Head Studs
GM Head Gaskets
GM Exhaust Gaskets
ZR1 Clutch & Aluminum Flywheel
1400 HP Axles
BMR Toe Rods
BMR Trailing Arms
Livernois Motorsports Dyno Tune

With these mods, the car made 700 RWHP / 566 RWTQ!!!!

Here is a video of the car on the dyno

VIDEO

Regards,

Rick LeBlanc

Very nice. You guys are currently building me a nice 427 LSX motor to pair up with a Ysi. I can't wait to get it. I've seen nothing but great things come out of your shop.

Owner should be very pleased. How much boost is he running? How much do you think the ported heads are worth power wise?

I agree, he's going to love it!

It made 7.5-8 lbs. most of the run and 9 lbs. at about the last 1,000 rpms.

I'm not sure on this application, but on a N/A car they are worth 25-30.

Dumb question, Rick: Why go with a double pump instead of a ZL1 fuel pump? Redundancy? Surplus capacity? I'm just curious... thanks!

as with all of our builds, we want room to grow while limiting having to replace parts that have already been upgraded once

GMPP catalogue says the ZL1 pump is good for 600hp (crank).

That LS3 monster that Livernois just built and dyno'ed is in the neighborhood of 700rwhp / 0.85 = 823 hp (crank) !

Seems like the ZL1 pump would not have been up to the task.
