If you pay for shipping both ways sent it to me and I will call them and do it. When it works the correct way SCT is a great tool to have.

I suppose I could try. I appreciate the offer. BUT, I've now discovered a much better way to do it.

All of the same info in easy to read and no bulky laptop or cords. Check and clear codes and log everything in plain english. Right on the phone. I can still use the SCT to transfer and send tune files if I ever need to. Or not and I can just give it away.

Just seems better at this point.

The Torque looks pretty good to me right now. WAY better than SCT.

In the event I might get lucky and get a log this weekend I can use I'll try and do this again.

So which one? I chose the 3400 because they are both seemingly the same. I'll try the other in the meantime.

My unit only has the serial number on it.

This is the type of shit that SCT gives us.

Keep in mind there was NO LINK or UPDATE on the page. It says to download the update 'below'.

Quote:
SCT will no longer be providing the firmware files as a downloadable link from our website. In order to update to this firmware and any future firmware, please download and install the latest SCT Programmer Device Update Software below. Within this program, select to Automatically Check for Updates while connected to the internet and your device will be updated automatically. The tune revision update will take approximately 5 minutes for completion.

Followed this to a 'T'.

With livelink, there are a few things that need to be correct then everything else will fall into place.

First and most important thing, make sure the drivers for the device you are using to data log are installed and properly working. (see related drivers documents for more on this)

Second, make sure you are using an up to date version of livelink. (this can be found on our website under Tech Support / Add-On Software and Utilities)

Third and equally as important is the order of events.
1. Plug in tuner to the vehicle's OBD2.
2. Plug in the usb cable to the laptop.
3. Turn the vehicle's key to the on position. (Skipping this step is the most common problem)
4. Open the Livelink software.
5. Press the Graph Button located at the top left.

It will then detect the vehicle and populate the list of pids to select. Put check marks in the pids you want to monitor, make sure to not select over 20 or so, or it will cause communication problems. Press OK, Then start the car, then press the Green button to begin logging.

Using the stuff on line will not work. Not to be a broken record but you need to call them. Nothing you or their website will do will work.

Take the 10 minutes on lunch and just let them fix it and be done.

My last 2 cents.

Thank you. I appreciate the help.

I'm just going to order the Torque.

I just don't get it. In order to make my tools work I have to give them access to my computer? They can't make a product that just works? And then they make themselves available til 5 o'clock on weekdays.

If there were no other way I would. But the other product is just better from what I see.

SCT techs are available until 6pm Eastern. I follow the steps SCT provides to connect the handheld/computer/obd II port. It logs 80% of the time. The latest unreleased beta version is 1.2.137.11 I've used this version for a few weeks. I called them today, there is not a newer update as of yet. So 1.2.137.11 is the latest and greatest. It's worth a shot if you can contact them.

Yep here in alabama it's central time so they close at 5 o'clock my time and I am with clients until after 5 most days.

The other system just looks easier better and even funner to use so I'll just do that.

No big deal sct just wasn't for me that's all. Simpler quicker and easier to read is just what I want regardless of the difficulties that I've had.

Ok, so you guys who have used the Blue Tooth OBDII connectors with your phones.

A) Where the heck do I buy them?

B) Are they accurate enough to log and asses and tune from?

I assume it's as accurate as the SCT since it gets the info from the same place?

Here is a list of OBD Bluetooth adapters that work with Torque:

http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters

I have a cheap ebay bluetooth adapter that I use with a program they supplied. It looks kind of like this one on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-Car-S...f86f3a&vxp=mtr

I couldn't get mine to work with Torque but I have never had a problem reading/clearing codes using the program they supply with it. And it has no problem getting data from the ECU for the logging software they supply. It has been a lot easier to get it to communicate with the ECU than the SCT......

I tried using the new LiveLink Gen II...I was able to finally see all of the PIDs I need for Ted but it won't show me any data values for the PIDs.....

I plan on calling SCT when I get the chance...I don't understand why it doesn't just work out of the box? The cheap ebay Chinese stuff even works better......

EDIT: Here is the best one to use with Torque according to their website...kinda pricey:

I'm jut going to order a system and use Torque. All I need right now is my boost numbers anyway. I can have Owen look at it at the fest maybe. There is no reason that anything is not still just fine.

I might just have my son sit in the car and look at the boost gauge for peak. lol

Have you thought about raising your idle a little? 740 RPM seems low for a cammed engine (not sure of the specs for a stage 1 comp cam). I tried <800 with mine and it died frequently too. 850 is where it is now.... sounds better than >900, but still occasionally dies and hunts for idle. I could go higher, but it sounds too good at 850.

I have the innovative LC1 that is mentioned earlier. It is cool to watch at WOT and DFCO... but other than that it just jumps all over the place in closed loop mode (or whatever mode is used during cruising).

btw, my LC1 was over a full point lower at WOT than the 2 NGK's that my tuner was using (one on each side). Mine read ~10.1 and both of his read about 11.5 AFR.

If you can get your car into max boost on the street then you don't make enough boost!!!!!

Seems like it was set higher at vengeance. It dies WAY more when I open the headers.

Sorry PQ. I was being a smart ass. You can def have your son watch your boost gauge. I assume you roll into the throttle. If I mash it in my car I'll be in the woods!

Oh, I learned that a while back. I practiced in a parking lot when I first put it on early 2011
