Look at this video from July 2011 when details were sketchy on the ZL1.
Notice at the 32 second mark ... the HOOD PINS and the OPEN SCOOP on the front of the ZL1 hood. Looks to me like GM may offer this on the LS7 version. Air Scoop to help get cool air in to LS7 NA engine. As well as FACTORY HOOD PINS. I'm not endorsing, just showing you where GM mounted them and what they look like. And... that I believe the LS7 had been in testing for a long long time! As the upcoming Z/28. |

A FERRARI 458 with hood nipples. I guess it isn't so old-school, after all. I don't care for the aesthetics when they are installed immediately outside both sides of the CF insert, but a bit further outboard as shown in the Camaro photo with the faux, fake, stick-on, ersatz, pseudo (brb, I need my Roget's Thesaurus) hood pin kit with lanyard (cosmetic only).

BTW: I would NEVER dismantle the OEM factory release for the hood if I installed "Quick-Latches". They would act as a backup in case it was jarred loose.
