Clutch Replacment

I've been round and round about what clutch to put in my car because everywhere i looked there was a different opinion. The problems I started having was the pedal sticking to the floor or half way and some occasional chatter on the factory clutch. The majority of the guys that talked on this topic were making much more power than I am which is right at 408 rwhp and 412 tq. That being said I went ahead and chose to go with the Street Slayer from Hendrix Engineering! It is quite a large initial cost at $2k but when you consider EVERY clutch but the Street Slayer has some sort of a bad review at some time and they cost around $1,500 so why not just spend the extra money for something that has proven itself in other cars ranging from my power to over 800hp? So I just ordered it and hope to get it in soon! I will keep all updated as I will be doing the install myself!

I too just purchased the Street Slayer from H-E yesterday. The original clutch with only 7,000 miles went on Saturday at the track. I wanted a clutch that was going to give me what I wanted and hold the little over 650 hp at rear wheels. From what I read the Street Slayer is more money up front but in the long run may more than pay for the difference. The install will be going in over the winter so it won't be until spring that I get a chance to try out and see for myself what everyone else who installed this clutch is talking about. I only want to do this once that is what made me lean towards the Street Slayer.

Thanks for the purchase...A wise man told me years ago You may not like the price of the best piece but youll never regret buying it.I think that rings true with the Street Slayer...thanks again

I have the ZR1 clutch in mine. It drives like stock and I have had no issues so far. If I ever have to replace it, A Street Slayer will be my choice. I think you have chosen wisely.

Just finished installing everything and was pulling it out of the garage and had quite a bit of chatter/shaking? Is this normal since its new or no?

I had with mine at the start, but after break-in, it was fine. This clutch is a dang good clutch!

If you think its a big issue, pull it back apart and ensure you have the clutch discs facing the right direction.
