I would mod away as with any other car. it can always be returned to stock down the road if they start selling for crazy money

...no. It's a living dinosaur before it's even produced. And there won't be many to hatch either. If you can get one...that's if, run the daylights outta it and mod it, or hold onto it as is...'cause this is the KT boundry. Either live fast and die young<mentally>, or be a speculator and keep it stock<depending on ones age group>. I am not going to bother even to try to get in the que for it. The more I think about this car and see it, the more I am enamoured by it.

I'd do things like headers, cats, udp, cai and tune; but I'd rather not tune if I could avoid it. No heads or cam.

I'd retrofit HID projectors into the stock headlight assemblies.

If I got one the very first thing I'd do is get a safety bar, 5-point harnesses, fire extinguisher and tow hooks. Then I'd see how it feels/performs on the track as it is right out of the box. There's a good chance the stock Z/28 would out-perform my current skill level on the track. If I was serious about racing it, (and if I was younger) I'd get myself to a racing school and learn how to drive it to the point where I actually needed and could use upgrades.
Performance/specs-wise this car is stunning for what it already is stock. If they keep it under $70k it will be the deal of the century for racers.
