OnStar - Who kept it Who Dumped it?

When webought our Camaros they came with 6 months of free Onstar service. Yesterday I got an Email from Onstar telling me that my free trial was about to expire and that starting in Februray Onstar would begin to charge my credit card of record $28.90/month for the service.

So my question is this: How many of you who have reached this milestone have kept Onstar and how many have dumpted it?

I let mine expire. Radio isn't worth paying for IMO, especially when most local stations are just as good.

You mean XM?

I only used Onstar for turn by turn and since my Driod X has an awesome GPS built in I didn't need it.

Thats it.
Also don't like the fact that they could listen in on you.
There is a few threads about this happening.

I had it for about a yr then dumped it along with xm. I miss the xm but haven't stopped breathing since it was shut off so I survived.

My 3 months is coming up. What does the safe and sound plan consist of? Also are there other variations? I would be interested in an anti-theft version.

I kept it for safe and sound purpose. I just paid for it by the year instead of monthly.

Why did they drop On-Star to 6 months? I'm still on my 12 month free since I have a '10.

Thanks for starting this thread. You just reminded me that my year was up last month and they started charging me automatically. I need to cancel that crap. Not worth it in my opinion.
