If you watch Jay Leno's Garage on YouTube where he rides with Al Oppenheiser in the '14 Z/28, Al says that Chevy's plan is to offer the Z/28 components to SS owners in the Chevy Performance aftermarket business.
I'm not sure if this includes the hood or the vent but it seems to include the other goodies: recaros, ceramic brakes, infinite adjustable shocks? .... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I would think the hex vents help the engine run a little cooler. Would they also help aerodynamics as the '14 vents are supposed to do getting some of the air out from under the car?

Have you seen one in person yet? I am not about to rip the car, because the 2014 or very nice. My wife and I stopped by the local dealer on Saturday asking about a Tahoe and hoping to sit in some Recaros. No Recaros, but they did have a 2014 base model, RS, and SS. I mentioned the hood vents, and they suggested I take a look before I get so excited. I can say I did not like them as well in person as I thought I would, but I hated the hood vents on the original SS hood that was on the 1969 we have as well, and was glad when I went with two different glass hoods for that car. Again, this is just me, but make sure you see them in person before you make the move.

Side question. Is your car lowered? It looks lower than the '14 beside it. Seeing the two side by side. The '14 front looks good but I still like the '13 so much better.

I took a close look at my hood and the front end before and saw that the lines of the hood cowl extend a little bit into the front bumper cover so it will probably not fit a 14 hood but it will look bad/miss matched if done. oh well. That is GM's way of making people buy a '14 I suppose. Could someone PLEASE post a pic of the underside of a '14 hood?

I took a couple of back end shots, but there was a bright street light behind us and the pic didn't come out. I didn't check the pics till I got home. I will try to catch this guy next time, and get some better pics. He works for GM and this was his company car.
