Chrome plated factory wheels

Does anyone know where I could send my factory pollished alluminum wheels somewhere to get chrome plated so they will really shine. I do not want to have to polish these things the rest of my life. Any help would be appreciated

Well you should know that the factory polished wheels have been clearcoated so you will not have to keep polishing them. Having said this, they were not polished with a high lustre finish so you may want to either have them chromed or have the clearcoat stripped off them so they can be buffed to a high lustre finish.

Just wait a few months, aftermarket companies will help you out, you'll probably be able to save your stock rims, and buy an extra set of chromies for the same cost of you getting your stock ones chromed.

The trick with the polished wheels is to keep the brake dust off of them- Wash after each use or the dust will destroy the clear coat. Sounds like something you could get tired of pretty quick.

dude, you just saved me a TON of time. money and frustration! i was unaware of this and was planning on doing some rubbing this week.

guess i'm gonna chrome them also. i know there was a place on Ebay out in California. I was looking for chrome wheels for my old Acadia and found him. you paid like $600 plus a deposit for a chrome set of OE wheels. when you got them, you'd send yours back in the same boxes and get you deposit back.

i'd love to have my 20's chromed

I am still trying to decide what to do. I did talk to a guy out here and he said it would be cheaper if you started out with the polished wheels because they there is usually rough finishes under the factory paint that would have to be fixed before the chroming process. Those SS wheels would look incredible chromed.
