I'm curious to know whose name is on the pre-order? Was it confirmed with your name on the order printout?

Nothing like a road trip. It's worth the break-in miles!

The dealership we ordered from is 350 miles from our house.

I bet you the dealer is full of crap and just has a buyer at $5k over sticker, GM would not do that. Believe me if the dealer was in the hole with GM they would have been the first ones closed down or would simply ask for C.O.D. for your car. I am calling Dealer BS on this one!

It doesn't matter how it was marked ( not that I agree) no funds no car. Move the produced car to a paying source quickly.

Why can't we all just get the cars we ordered for the price we ordered? No hassle..no price over sticker? I'm getting sick to my stomach of hearing all these shady deals over the interwebs. GM gets paid, dealer gets paid, we get a car. So simple- so so simple.

Yes our name is on the order printout. We've talked to GM as we tracked the order, and everything was okay along the way. Until yesterday.

Jules,
Another guy on here (Saving41) had a dealer try to do him dirty then suddenly the dealer gave-in - as long as Saving41 clammed up and said nice things about the dealership...wonder if you'll get the same deal...and if you will take it

Considering that I've already named the two dealers here on this forum, and we've spent the last two days telling all our friends and family what's going on with our car - I doubt that clamming up would work at this point. LOL The damage has been done.

However, I would probably do or say whatever I had to get our car delivered and in our hands. What I say after my car is in my hands is called "freedom of speech".

This can all happen very quickly, as the floorplan source and GM are trying to minimize losses. Things are a mess right now. That being said, customer assistance should step in once they get a call and try to take care of the customer. The new dealer that received the car should be reminded it was over and above his allocation and he should take care of the customer. As a dealer I would be happy to receive it and get a new customer. Unfortunately there are a lot stores that are short sighted and can't figure it out.
I am sickened by the stories of dealers backing out of agreements and taking sold orders from customers. All I can ask is don't tar all of us with the same stick. I hope things work out.
