Cylinder #5 misfire, oily spark plug....

I've been throwing a code for cylinder #5 misfiring under heavy load.

I checked on some CTS forums to find that the drivers side cylinder order is 1-3-5. So I pulled my plugs just now, here they are in that order, and whatdayaknow? Plug #5 looks funny. Has some oily residue, not a lot, but enough to come off onto the mircofiber. Its not dripping.

Am I off to the dealer? Or is this just a fouled plug that can be replaced?

I would go out to autozone and buy a new one, pretty sure they sell them there, just make sure to write down that brand and number on the plug down. That oil seems to be causing the issue.

Its definitely the oil, I'm just wondering if a new plug solves the issue or do I have an issue causing the oil?

Not sure. Only 1 way to find out haha.

According to amazon the iridium plugs (think that is the one our cars have) are 7 bucks with a $2 rebate so that would be $5 for one (but you do have to buy atleast 4 to get the $2 rebate on each). I personally would buy them and switch it out and see how it holds up after a couple hundred miles and see.

Cleaned the spark plug off, still misfiring. Oil is getting into the cylinder at high load, high RPM pulls. Off to the damn dealer for I don't know how many times now.

Thanks man, this is extremely frustrating! Nothing is going right for my car right now. Its not running right and on top of that my new bumper set up has been delayed over 2 months now!

Modified SS bumper, it will be one of a kind once its done muhahahaha SHOULD be ready within 2-3 weeks but we'll see. Priority is getting this damn thing running right.

How about replacing the number 1 or 3 plug with the number 5 plug. See if number 5 is still misfiring or if the one you replaced it with, is misfiring.

those plugs look worn..triangle-shaped, when new they are cylindrical..

That plug 5 doesn't look right. Have you tried to put that plug into another cylinder and see if it causes the misfire to happen on the cylinder that you switched the plug to?

Also I don't remember but are you running the stock tune?

Its tip was the same as the others, just oil on the thread. Cleaned it off nice and it looked just like the others, still misfires though. I didn't bother changing it. After talking to Tracy, no point is messing around anymore. A tech needs to fix this, I can't keep messing with it, I'm no mechanic.

And stock tune, just basic bolt on car and not many at that.
