Unfortunately Inferno Orange is so far to the red scale that it's mistaken for red frequently except in real bright conditions. Hopefully it'll be modified for the Camaro or switched to Hugger Orange.

I have to disagree, I saw an Orange Colorado yesterday and there was no mistaking that it was Orange.

Here is an example

That's not Inferno Orange Metallic. The Colorado has been manufactured in three different orange shades over the years. Inferno Orange, Sunburst orange, and Tangier orange. That shade is Tangier orange.

Here is a Pontiac Solstice in Brazen, which is Pontiac's name for Inferno Orange Metallic:

In the above photo, I'd say that it is strikingly similar to the Hugger Orange metallic paint used on the convertible concept, however in other light conditions you get:

Not so orange anymore. And here is a photo of the Camaro convertible concept painted in the revered Hugger Orange metallic everyone wants for comparison:

Now that you look at it, they do look very alike, so maybe Inferno Orange Metallic was the right color to choose from their palette to match the Hugger Orange everyone wants without having to manufacture a whole new paint color. I still reserve that the Inferno Orange still has a little more red in it than necessary, but maybe once production starts, it will look a lot more orange in person and come together.

Your right, that is not the same color orange that I saw in person the other day. I guess the monitor I have at work sucks.

Yeah, Tangier Orange you saw is actually a solid color. It's not metallic by any means. To be honest, I'd rather have that available on the Camaro than Inferno Orange Metallic since it's instantly identifiable as an orange. But I guess that would not be as faithful to the car's heritage-rich Hugger Orange as IOM is.
