One of my cousins had a 72 Mach 1 that he shoe-horned one of those hot rodded 427 whatever Ford motors in it. I don't know that much about old Fords, but i remember that that car could probably do 761 MPH. He wrapped it around a power pole and that pretty much ruined the whole thing. He did come out of it with only a broken left arm though. Come to thing of it that Stang had quad headlights?????
No they had turn Sigs in the center..

I am glad he was ok... I have never been a ford owner before my mustang
but I do love my 2005 S197 GT...

Look at the Picture of the Ferrari below, notice that the smoke stream is not touching the car, this in positive pressure, now notice the very front of the car, the smoke is farther away from the car here because the leading pressure is higher here and creates a "skin" of air so to speak. this skin or bubble of positive air does not move as fast as air further from the car.
for GM to put the slit up on the nose was a smart thing since it will not effect the overall dynamics. but it also makes the slit useless.
So I wasn't talking out of my ass with the bubble theory? I love not being wrong.

It's still awesome though!
Its busy enough down there as it is, I don't want my sig to be longer than my posts. Feel free to use it yourself though. Other ideas are variations on "No LS2" and "There will be regular fuel door". Search for quotes to support these. And there cannot be enough people who use headlight sigs. I must give credit to Dragoneye for the idea. there is even a smiley now.

Wow do you think it will fit in the Ranger?
You should just get a Supercharger for the Ranger 4.0 V6...
Its called an X-Charger... I have seen one at the track run 12.6

I agree with you...the '96 and '97 SS hoods where very straight forward the air went into the scoop and the airbox was located on top of the engine block, so the passage of the air through the scoop to the airbox was a clear shot.

In the '98-02s it was different. The air went in and was re-routed to the front of the engine where the airbox/intake is. (I was looking for a picture of the underside of the 02 SS hood...if anyone wants to post a picture...feel free)

My point of bringing this up...is that if it was something that GM really wants to do, using the hood latch mechanism or the radiator wouldn't be their reasoning. Some people could argue that the scoops on the 4th Gen SS are located further back on the hood which is what makes the difference, and I would agree...but could air technically enter through the front scoop and be directed downward (or whatever direction) toward the intake? Since none of us (aside from the usual suspects...CAMERO!!!) know what the actual setup of the engine bay will be, I know it would really be hard to comment on. I'm just tossing ideas out there

(wow it took me a long time to write that post...look at aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the stuff that's been said since)

The Slit in the nose is not ram air, it is the same design as the Z06, it supplies cold air to the engine bay and forces the hot air out through the vents under the windshield.

If you look under the slit on the Z06 you will see the actual air intake just above the radiator.
The camaro will most likely be on the front corner of the engine bay behind the headlights simular to the V6 Camaro Spy Pics.

Don't count on a Pontiac version, I think the G8 maybe it and you may see a future GTO but no more Firebirds, sorry to say

Hmmm...interesting conversation to say the least. Especially about that cowl hood intake thing. I have to say; I have heard of those -but filed them in the 'dumb' folder.

Why put restrictive, ultra-curvey ducting for your intake air right over a hot engine block?

Anyways. I think the vent out front, and the ones in the back will serve ONE purpose. further beautification. Say what you will about functionality and whatnot - but I like'em.

I know the top pic is from the last thread, but i figured it'd get more attention here. I was just noticing just how similar the concept and the pre-po really are... when you compare these two photos (besides the slight difference in angle) you can rest assured that the concept you love is pretty much what you're gonna get, albeit in a much cheaper/safer package.

Hey, I definitely don't understand either, but that's the way it was for 2 years. I personally think that the design for the 98-02 SS hood was more effective/efficient...Any thoughts?

Welcome to Camaro5!!!!
However...I'm afraid you must pass a small test before I allow you to post any further.

Are the lights on the black car production?
And will the production model have the LS2?
I'm sorry! haha, Welcome to the forums. I think you'll like it quite bit here.

Excellent find on that angle on the concept, too. I never even thought of that.

I know the angles are slightly different...but does anybody get the impression that the "top" of the grille (where the 'intake' vent is) is somewhat slanted downward more than the concept?
