What says Camaro5 members? Is my thinking wrong?

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101680
This link above is a thread from the wheel and tire section of the site.
Right from the start this thread struck a foul chord with me and I piped up and commented. Since than the debate has been on.
I thought I would move this thread out into the open to get more opinion on this subject.
If my views on this are all wrong,I will be the bigger man and admit my thought process on this subject is all wrong and I should work on changing it.
Lastly, lets try to keep this nice,as with my luck, the only thing I will get sponsored is a time out from Camaro5.

If you can get a sponsorship then why not? I don't agree with posting a "Sponsor Wanted" thread like was done in the tire and wheel section though... To me that's kind of like begging...

If the OP of that thread is looking for a tire and wheel sponsor then he / she should contact them personally and submit his / her resume so to speak...

I can see the logic on both sides.

I don't believe in begging for things that I can't afford. On the flip side, if I can get a deal on something that I was going to buy anyway, then I will consider it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with sponsorships. HOWEVER there is a right way to go about trying to attain one. Coming on a message board saying you dont have the money to buy it yourself isn't one of those right ways. In fact it makes you look pathetic.

I am 100% for the deal thing if it's offered or advertised but it's the trolling for a sponsor thing that grates on me.

I agree with you on this one, papabear.

Also, I too am looking to sponsor a brewer. In exchange for beer, I'll make sure people know about your product and are given thorough demonstrations on it's proper use.
