Any Record Producers here??

I was wondering if there were any record producers around this forum...

I want a career in record producing when I become of age, so I thought it might be a good idea to acquaint (if I spelled that right) myself with as many as possible so as to get a feel for, well, were to start. I know the bussiness doesn't make hardly any money in the beggining, it's all about making a name for yourself apparently, but the money wasn't really why I want to become a record producer. Even though it would help to pay for my future new car (duh).
So just kinda Throw yourself out there, any advice would be helpfull.

I'm not a record producer, but I have friends that are. I work in Television and Film.

Here's my advice:
Learn everything you can.
Read books, buy music and listen to it critically.
If you want to go to a school for it check out Full Sail www.fullsail.com
Find any way to get in to a music studio and be an intern or whatever. If you have a great attitude and are willing to work hard you can get in on some sessions after a while. (assisting)
Go to www.gearslutz.com and READ as many of the threads as you can. DO NOT POST on there that you want a job. Make sure that you search through all of the threads before posting a question. The guys and gals on this forum are pros. They get ridiculous requests from people all the time and will not take it lightly. However, if you have a good solid question and have done your research they will be happy to answer as best they can.

If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I don't care if they're dumb or not. PM me.
