Hm interesting, I had assumed it was confirmed for 2012. Thanks for that tid-bit. I'll be waiting then to see some dyno/certification numbers then when people start receiving them.
Your welcome. |

Our LFX V6 powered convertible got dropped off just as I was leaving the shop this afternoon. I hung around just long enough to snap a couple of pictures.
The new cylinder head with integrated exhaust manifold... The new E39 engine control module (not good news for us Bosch controled LLT guys hoping for tuning alternatives) A new 8 wire MAF/Air temp sensor And (sorry for the poor picture) of a new plastic intake plenum

That's not the cover, thats the actual intake manifold (plenum)
It uses the same cover as the LLT V6, I removed the cover to take a picture of the intake. Sorry about the quality of that picture, I'll get a better one tomorrow.

The sound on start-up was very similar to the LLT.

Omg I want that plastic intake manifold! I bet thats where the extra HP bump comes from.
I expect they will run .1-.2 tenths faster or so. |

more like where most of the weight came from. With the '10 & '11 the plain jane engine cover was optional. Now it looks mandatory.

Wow... that intake manifold look hideous. I really like having my cover off on the LLT as I think it looks better showing it's intake manifold. I really like how the exhaust manifold is just screaming for a turbo though...

seriously tho... a steady hand with a grinder will smooth out that fugly intake manifold... or... you could just keep the cover on...

So do I. I'd really like to see if it fits though first.

Holy cow...I wasn't expecting a plastic intake manifold...no wonder they were able to lose weight! Should also cost less....shouldn't it??
Yeah, many of us V6 owners like to run without the engine cover, but with this...there is no way I'd run without it. Ughh.... But...if it was an easy way for more power I'd do it! Just pretty up my engine cover!
