Funny this happened to my seat this week. What part did you ask for? Will the warranty cover it?

I'm sorry Rabidd but I looked through my resources and did not see a TSB on this issue. If you are concerned with how they fix your vehicle I would suggest looking it over to make sure it is to your satisfaction. I'm sorry to see that you, among others, have this issue. I hope they're able to take care of you to your requirements the first time.

Had it replaced on my car.

3000 miles later, it's broken again. :(

Hey I was just curious what the status was on your seat. I am having the same issue. Did warranty cover this or was this an out of pocket expense?

That happened to mine. My seat was stuck in the highest position and my head was touching the roof almost. And the worst part is, I was heading out of town for the Camaros for Heros event (6 hour drive). I had to wait until I got back home to get it fixed....miserable.

There is an upgraded part. If you feel inside the rounded upper back part of the plastic piece, it is hollow. The new part they put on has a lining in it of what feels like a semi hard rubber to reinforce it. It can be seen barely sticking past the inside edge toward the seat. I will try to get some pics tomorrow but it will be difficult to capture. They apparently will automatically send this part when they order the replacement since my dealership service department had not heard about an upgraded part. I showed them the difference. Yes it was covered under warranty, no cost to me. Now, better than new.

I saw that BlackBeauty had some kind of bar that goes between the door and the frame, which I would guess allows you to "lock" the door in the open position (for a car show). That way if someone moved the bar or opened the door enough to get in, the alarm would sound. That is my guess on the bar, you would have to ask BB. Glad you are getting it fixed. Another option is windows down, door locked. Show patrons can look in, but not get in without the alarm triggering. My .02.

Had the same thing happen to Driver's seat. Issue is, cheap plastic piece that holds molding snug to seat. Mine unfortunately broke after my warranty ran out and I'm sure their repair would eventually break as well. Can't understand why on the passenger seat, this piece is metal?? Headed to Lowe's for some hardware and JB Weld and repaired on my own. So far is holding up very well.

I didn't think to take pics as I did it, wasn't sure it would work. But this is all you need. The corner brace will replace the plastic piece that broke off. Align corner brace on post on molding. Drill hole through hole on corner brace that will be attached to post. Apply jb weld and secure on post. Use screw and bolt for added support. Wait for jb weld to dry. Put back on the seat.

Holy thread resurrection Batman! Hope your fix works. BTW, my fix from the dealership is still holding up fine.
