Convertible Top Handle Position

Can someone please confirm that after the top handle is turned clockwise to release the top that it should then be returned to the closed position before lowering the top. I just want to make sure that I'm doing this correctly. Thanks!

I always close mine and catch it and open it on the way down. Very easy to do

Operate the rocker switch with your left hand. As the top is moving away from you, you can twist it to the closed position. When closing the top, reach up as it's coming toward you then catch & twist before it touches down. Easy, peezy, lemon squeazy.

I've never closed mine when I put the top down. 18K miles and all is well.

Owners Manual states to return handle to CLOSED position after unlatching top.

I close the handle. After a while you don't need to stop the top most of the time.
