LFX w/ bolt-ons 0-60?
I am curious, what are the fastest 0-60 and 1/4 mile times people have posted in LFX with the usual bolt-ons such as CAI, lightweight wheels, upgraded exhaust etc. ? I have seen rough times for the stock LFX cars, but curious what 0-60 times those easy bolt-ons would allow for. I'm asking because I don't think I will really want to go FI at any point, but still want to get the most I can out of the engine without dropping insane amounts of money.

I'm at 14.02@100.96 in the 1/4 all motor. GMPP mufflers, CAI and Trifecta tune, 13.07@ 107 on a 100HP Nytrex nitrous system. Can only start to spray in top of 1st to keep spinning down.

etmx...I just realized you may be the first tuned LFX I've heard about. Did you get a tune that you only run at the strip with nitrous, or did your also get a regular street tune?
I'd be really curious to see what kind of extra power (if any) can be gotten from the LFX with the Delphi ECM.

I'm tuned as well, but I haven't been to a strip. I'm sure running the factory steelies probably wouldn't help either. The butt dyno says the tune was great, but I would like to get out to the track sometime this summer. The track about an hour and a half away is nice but requires a helmet for anything that breaks 14-sec. In this heat, I'd be lucky to get to low 14's, so I think I would be good without.
I've tried hard launches on the steelies with nannies off, but always end up spinning way too much with any considerable amount of RPM at launch. I really want to upgrade so I can get some lighter wheels and stickier tires. |

There are so many variables in 0-60 times it seems like the only true measure of mods would be the dyno. Even then you have to correct for humidity, temp, etc and not cheat with hood up, etc.

I have two Trifecta tunes, one for motor and one for nitrous
Below is a copy of another post I did. So I keep getting asked how did I get my 2012 2LT RS to run in the 13.0s. Here is the breakdown: Stock 14.30 @ 98mph ( Made it into the forum ten fastest list for V6 ) GMPP mufflers $850.00 14.24@ 99.3MPH CAI systems intake $325.00 14.16@ 100.26MPH Trifecta tune ( group buy ) $325.00 14.05@ 101.21 ( no data logging done yet ) Nytrex Triple Threat system $850.00 13.07@ 107.67 ( need some tires and a posi unit to see it's full potential now ) Quote:

I am curious about the Posi as well, I was told that since my LFX is the 6 speed stick that is automatically was equipped with a posi rear.
etmx183, those are really good numbers!!

The V-6 with manual has a 3.27 diff with an Eaton G-80 locker. It is a true locker I believe. I have a G-80 in both my Trailblazer 4wd and Duramax 4wd, great units, so I have 3 now. If I spin the rear tires on my trucks and then go onto the pavement right after the tires are chirping when I turn, I usually have to stop, back up a ways then drive straight again to get them to release.

2012 LFX A6 Is different setup, GMs way of staying cheap. 195mm ring gear, no posi or gears made for this yet.
I am looking to change over but tough finding information on change over components yet. Last edited by etmx183; 06-14-2012 at 01:54 PM. |

You have some good numbers etmx. My brother and I are trying to make plans to travel to the track not this weekend, but next. If we go, I will post what I got. I have the feeling my non-performance tires are going to be hell to get to hook up.

By the math, (sans the spray) it appears the CAI unit contributed the most to your e.t. drop. Makes sense.
I will be ordering the same soon. Your car gives me hope...as I am also A6. |
