Question Passenger seat is stuck

I pull the handle to move it back and the seat doesnt move. It clicks like it usually does, but it doesnt go anywhere.

I can rock it back and forth about a quarter of an inch but its locked in place. I looked underneath when pulling the handle and it looks like the black prong doesn't go down far enough to be popped out of the hole, I think.

How do I go about fixing this?

You probably have something like a coin or debris in the mechanism that's not letting it release?

You can take out the seat without too much trouble. It's just a couple of torx bolts in the rear seat end of the two seat rails. Then slide the whole seat assembly backwards an inch or two to clear the 'hooks' toward the front end of the seat rails. I'd disconnect the battery first, wait about 5 minutes, and then undo the electric connector (for airbag, etc) under the seat. Then you can take the whole thing out of the car and see underneath to hopefully find out what's the issue with it.

All this is not hard unless you have a cross threaded torx bolt like my passenger seat came installed with from the factory!!!

Good luck with finding the issue.

Sorry for the Necropost, but I'm having this same problem with my 2011 passenger seat.
Can't see anything in the track. Pulling on the seat adjustment lever does no good, and pushing the seat back forward does no good.
Out of warranty, and I can't see how to get to the back two bolts to remove the seat from the track.

sorry I am responding so late. I rarely look at the forums anymore.

Here is THE SOLUTION: After checking that nothing is preventing it from sliding. All you have to do is get really mad. Seriously, this worked. Get mad, pull the lever up (nicely), and violently shake the seat until it starts sliding again. That fixed it.

That was my solution and worked instantly. Good luck!

This is the Necropost to end all necroposts. So I finally got my 5th Gen Camaro that I have been wanting for about 12 years. Have had the car for about 3 weeks and when I first attempt to put something in the back seat, the power tilt gets stuck in the forward position (because I couldn't find the release until it was already completely forward). Then it would not power tilt at all. So I am freaking out that the power adjustment on my new Camaro is broken and I am stuck with the passenger seat tilted forward until I can work out with the warranty company on getting it fixed.

Then I google it and this thread pops up. I shake the passenger seat a bit and BOOM, the power tilt starts working again. So I just necro'd the hell out of this post to say thank you!
