Transformer Edition build out date HELP

I need help understanding the factory order process.

I went into the dealer Nov 21/09 and placed my factory order for a 2SS/RS LS3 Transformer Edition. I was informed that my order got "picked up" by GM on Dec 14 and was given an order number by the dealer. OK, so I thought that all I had to do was sit back and wait, right? Wrong!

I called GM Canada last Friday (Jan 22) and gave them my order number. They found it, but then the phone rep started saying things like "Oh, it doesn't say Transformer Edition" and "Oh, build out date is Jan 29th". I asked her to clarify, but she started to put me off and told me to get the dealer to call them.

I immediately called the dealer and they gave me some run around. So I went in on Saturday and confronted my salesman. He pulls out my order that he printed out and it shows a "GM Work Bench" document that shows a Camaro with all the options (L99, sunroof, GFX) stuff that I didn't order.

I gave him s#*t and told him to sort it out, but of course GM was closed for the weekend and their order guy can't get into GM's system cause it's down for the weekend.

I called him again Mon, Jan 25 and he still didn't have an answer. All he had to say was that GM Work Benches starts off with cars fully loaded and then they delete the things that are not ordered?!?!? What the hell is this?

So, now I'm concerned that I won't get my Transformer Edition configured the way I want.

Does anyone out there know what can be going on? I would figure that if GM had picked up my order on Dec 14 for a Transformer Edition that they would get on it since the build out date is Jan 29.

HELP!!!

Thanks.
Tom

Order workbench shows your real order, either he did not order your car or he messed up big time.

The workbench is literally what GM is going to build for that order. So either your car was missordered or the salesman showed you the wrong one. Did the workbench printout have your name on it? Mine did.

Your salesman is an Idiot.

Work bench # with your name is YOUR order if they ordered what you wanted.

They may have tried to alter someone else's order OR A STOCK order that was in the system.

Did he show you " autobook " or work bench?

The dealership (Dueck on Marine) told me today that they purposely make the Work Bench Order full load cause, in their words, "it'll get picked up faster". I still don't believe them.

No, my name was not on the Work Bench form that they printed out. I have a suspicious feeling that they may have messed around with my order like alter one of their stock orders. If they did, would this have caused my Transformer order's demise?

Although, from RCLapCar's post above, he did wait 2 months before his order was picked up and seeing that the Transformer Ed had a build out date of Jan 29, I may have shot myself in the foot for ordering it at the end of Nov/09.

Oh well, c'est la vie. Put that $1400 towards a striping job. BTW, anyone know where to get a top notch custom paint on stripe job in Vancouver???

Thanks
