Make your own 1LE

Now you can bring your stock Camaro up to the standards of the 1LE. That's right. Starting early next year, Chevrolet Performance will be offering street-legal kits that make it possible to install the Chevrolet Performance 1LE suspension, 3.91 gear ratio and brakes on your stock Camaro.

What are we expecting the price of the kit(s) to be?

Awesome news. Makes it easier for me when I trade up in the coming months.

Already in progress...

*1LE/ZL1 sways ordered -- check
*Front Brace from convertible installed -- check
*Paint SS brake calipers red -- check
*Paint SS spoiler black -- check
*3.91 rear gears -- on wait list
*Black hood wrap -- chose the 'delete option' on this one
*Acquire 1LE/ZL1 wheels -- not done, still searching. Installed 20x9" at all four corners until 1LE wheels can be purchased.

Not going to upgrade to ZL1 brakes, as they are not part of the 1LE package, and I believe the SS brakes are great and *more* than up to the task.

Truthfully, though -- with the exception of the 3.91s, all of these items were on my "to do" list before the 1LE was public. I'm just flattered that GM chose to create a package that so mirrors my own plan! LoL

Ugh I want it all. I really want those gears and especially the wheels! The price tag on the wheels makes me cringe though. I know there are replicas but I just like the chevy center cap and the camaro on the wheel that give it that OE look.

What about the fuel pump with special pick ups, or electric steering, as these are 1LE componets too!

Electric steering is standard on the 13 SS, and you can get the ZL1 pump from GMPP as well.

You're right, of course. But even if I would be rich enough to add literally every single 1LE part to my SS, its still not a "true" 1LE. And I don't think its Chevy's intent by releasing these "1LE upgrades" to create 100% clones.

I'm modding my SS with 1LE parts, in the areas that, in my opinion, represent the most desireable traits and structure of a 1LE for *far* less than what it would cost me to trade.

Yeah, i get it. Just wasn't sure if you overlooked parts. Good luck with your build!

Except for the transmission, my car should similar to the 1LE as it sits now. I just installed toe rods and trailing arms...
